While attending Texas A&M I took many classes that taught me important concepts and helped me to aquire the skills and knowledge to work in horticulture related fields. Here are some of my most influential classes in more detail.
| Spring 2004 | PLPA301/303 - Plant Pathology/Lab Fundamental principles of plant pathology; diagnosis, cause and control of plant diseases. |
| Fall 2004 | AGRO301 - Soil Science Soil science is designed to educate students in physical, chemical and biological reactions in soils that influence their use and impact on the natural world. Description, formation and classification of soils is also learned. AGRO301 helps prepare students for careers as soil scientists, resource managers, consultants, regulators, agricultural producers, and graduate school. |
HORT325 - Vegetable Crop Production This course educates students on the principles, production practices, management, harvest, handling, and marketing of the major vegetable crops, in the context of todays commercial production systems. Students will be able to apply these principles and practices in a range of future activities, from home gardening to commercial vegetable growing. Lab activities include organic and non-organic production of major vegetable crops. | |
HORT428 - Greenhouse Managment HORT 428 deals with the environmental factors regulated in a greenhouse and marketing and management of a greenhouse business. Students also learn regulating and controlling the environment and applying cultural practices as they affect plant physiological processes and influence plant growth and development. |
