Welcome! You are part of the pre-inaugural, pre-beta test class of WebMasters. This course has been taught live during the Summer semesters of 1995, 1996, and 1997 at Texas A&M University, and the student proficiency was quite outstanding. (Students of that class and samples of their work are located here). This course will not be live, but hopefully it will be INTERACTIVE.
Each student will design, refine, and serve a Web page. In the process of serving their Web page, each student will:
Tutorial lessions will be organized on the WebMasters Web site. These lessons will be undertaken in sequence, mastering one skill before the next is attempted.

- master the art of transferring files over the Internet;
- gain experience in organizing and formatting an attractive and useful Web site;
- learn methods of image acquisition and manipulation;
- formulate plans for using the Web in their professional and private lives.
Each student will be assigned a password protected directory (folder) on the Webtutor computer. Files will be sent electronically to the student's directory, and the results will be displayed on the World Wide Web at an address similar to the following:

A directory of student photos, biosketches, and Web page links will be assembled to allow students to observe each others work, and to allow for cooperative problem-solving.
Assistance in problem solving will be provided by rapid-response email sent to an instructor.
Owing to the preliminary nature of this course, students are requested to provide liberal feedback concerning difficulties and recommended improvements for future courses.
